Nearly 20 years of artistic and photojournalistic experience allow me to bring out the best version of my subjects. I’ve been humbled by the trust that each individual puts in me as a photographer – the faith that I will capture their moments gracefully and memorably with an experienced eye.

From large-format prints in private homes to magazine and novel covers, to solo and group exhibits - my photography has defied categorization in its field, and has been featured on magazines and book covers, and exhibited in solo and group shows around the country.

Between the small Nebraska town where I grew up and my years in rural Alaska, to the cities in Europe I’ve lived in and explored, I have become fascinated with people from all walks of life.

My decade-long photography experience spans from LA to DC to Paris.

I’m always enthusiastic to share my experiences and impart a decade’s worth of lessons learned working and studying in the field of photography. I host both introductory and advanced group workshops and private lessons in the DC area.

Absolutely, positively amazing!

First, Rachel was very responsive and helpful in answering my questions before the shoot like what to wear etc.

Second, she was so easygoing at the shoot and really knew the best poses and spots to take pictures. We also had so much fun with it!

So good!!! We were lucky enough to get Rachel to do our wedding on fairly short notice. Looking through the pictures today, this was one of our best decisions. We asked her to focus on atmosphere and candid people shots, and she captured both wonderfully. She was very discreet (I was really surprised by some of the shots she got with me in them because I had no idea she was shooting at that time). I hired Rachel to photograph my engagement to my now wife. From the first phone conversation, Rachel was exceptionally professional and excited to be involved. Rachel is wonderful to work with! My fiancé and I purchased the "Classic Engagement" package, two outfit changes and two locations for an hour and a half. The price and the quality of photos are definitely worth it, as there are other local photographers charging a lot more for even less photo shoot time. Our initial date was snowed out, and I received a phone call from Rachel having no problem rescheduling to the next week, even a few days before Christmas. Our make up day weather ended up being perfect without a cloud in the sky.

Rachel is very professional and has a wonderful eye for the right shot. She is fun to work with, and tells you exactly what to do to get the perfect photo. We took our photos in Old Town, Alexandria, and since we had some extra time to spare, Rachel said we could go to a third location for photos! It was a wonderful surprise and we are lucky we had the extra time, as we have even more variety for our photos.

The quality of photos are wonderful. We have received our photo preview, and are anxious to see the rest of them! Our friends and family love the photos as well. We will definitely use Rachel again for maternity photos, family photos, etc! Definitely recommend!

My husband, kids and I came to Washington DC for vacation and we wanted to take family photos at the National Mall. After calling a half dozen photographers on yelp, I found Rachel- who was the most flexible and accommodating with our busy schedule and modest budget. My company hired Lincoln Photography to produce stock photos of our university scholars and I'd definitely recommend Rachel Lincoln for future projects. She was on-time for both sessions, flexible, and great at giving directions. Once we had established where/how we wanted a scene, she did a great job of confidently and efficiently setting up the shot, posing the participants, and keeping things moving.
