Brenda and Jose came to DC for the National Cherry Blossom Festival last spring for maternity photos with their son. We spent a beautiful hour at sunset on the west side of the basin where crowds aren’t as thick, and where you’ll find lots of low-hanging branches perfect for portraits!
We hold the majority of our cherry blossom photo sessions at the Tidal Basin in downtown Washington DC. Most sessions took place at sunrise or around 9 am - morning has become increasingly popular to help avoid insane crowds. I’ve been holding photo sessions at the cherry blossoms in DC for over 15 years, so I know all the best spots for crowd-free, flower-filled photos you’ll never tire of looking at.
